Industrial Hydrocarbons, Inc. was founded in 1966 to serve the aerosol industry. From our conception to now we have played an active role in introducing and incorporating many of the changes and new techniques that are taking place within the industry.

In 1977 we expanded our services to include a full time Engineering Department. We can provide professional and unique knowledge in all phases of aerosol specialty construction from tank farm, gassing room, compounding area, to production and filling areas. Propellant storage and transfer and blending systems can be designed for new facilities or converted for your present operation. Field engineering services such as supervision of construction, plant start-up, complete safe handling clinics, periodic plant inspections and recommendations are all a part of our services.

A NEW ARM OF INDUSTRIAL HYDROCARBONS, INC.

With over 100 years of experience in the LP Gas and aerosol industry, we have developed a new high purity hydrogenation process system for hydrocarbons. The generating plant will produce high purity hydrocarbon liquid by hydrotreating, followed by sulfur removal and stabilization. Most plants rely on good local or imported hydrocarbon feed stock to fill their needs, while others have gone into molecular sieve sulfur and moisture removal systems, that do nothing with the unsaturates that are prevalent in the product.

Pro Systems has made a giant step in solving three basic problems: quality, continuity, and supply. This new system can take a very low grade of feed stock, put it through a hydrotreating process and reform the unsaturates into saturated hydrocarbons. It also removes the sulfur and moisture. The result is a very high quality hydrocarbon product, continually, day in and day out. You now produce a higher quality product, on a continuing basis, from a lower quality feed stock.

THE BASIC SYSTEM

Hydrotreating
The LPG flows to the hydrotreater reactor which contains a rare mineral catalyst. The catalyst promotes the hydrogenolysis of unsaturated hydrocarbon compounds.

Desulfurization
The normal flow of the LPG is through the vessels in series. This series arrangement reduces the total catalyst requirement, since the front bed can be run to a higher sulfur retention. The front bed then can be operated until sulfur breakthrough occurs, where the trail bed then acts as a guard bed. This insures that the sulfur specification of the product can always be met.

Stabilization
This portion consists of the removal of the unreacted hydrogen and light hydrocarbons. The light portion which contains some hydrogen flows to the stabilization tower, where all the ethane and soluble hydrogen are removed, thus providing a high purity LPG product.

THE SAFETY AND MONITORING SYSTEM

This P/C computerized system shall be capable of performing the following functions:
Energize, de-energize, or pulse electrical outputs by keyboard command.
Log alarms and equipment starts and stops, print out status list on printer and on CRT.
Print out maintenance routings when due.
Communicate with electrical equipment via a multiplexing system.
Monitor analog values.
Add or delete monitored points through conversational operator routines at the CRT without disrupting system operation.
